BAKERSFIELD - Several of your neighbors, local organizations, and businesses were honored Saturday for helping make Kern County a better place.
The annual Beautiful Bakersfield Awards banquet was held Saturday at the Doubletree Hotel.
The awards were presented by the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce and included several categories, including architecture, art, and health.
The prestigious Chairman's Award was presented to Bright House Networks and the City of Bakersfield Recreation and Parks Department for their work on the Bright House Network Amphitheater.
“One of the reasons the Chamber of Commerce loves doing the Beautiful Bakersfield Awards is we feel like by spotlighting some of the good thing that are going on in the community, the people, the businesses, the organizations, it gives other people the idea that they should be out there doing like wise and we all need to do what we can to support and build up our community,” said Debbie Morena, the President of the Chamber of Commerce.
